COVA International trip to Peru: get $100 off the trip if you sign up by March 31st!

Dear COVA students and families:

As many of you know, the COVA HS Travel Club is planning a trip to Peru for June 2010.  Since this is an educational group trip, we have secured a really good price that is all inclusive.  The price includes RT airfare, all the hotel stays, most of the meals, all of the travel within Peru and our tour guide and entrance fees to the historic locations.  If you sign up by MARCH 31st, 2009 International travel is a wonderful way to learn about our world, and I encourage you to come!  Students need to be 12 or older and parents/adults are more than welcome to join us on this trip! Participants do not need to be COVA students, so if you have siblings or friends who might want to do this, please let them know that they are welcome!  You can still sign up after March 31st, but the $100 incentive will no longer apply.  Please see the information below and let me know if you have any questions.

Welcome to Miss Ingraham’s tour to Peru for the summer of 2010.  I am glad that you are

interested in experiencing international travel and all of its benefits.  The tour will include

a variety of locations through Peru’s beautiful landscape and the entire day-by-day itinerary.

The requested departure date for the group is 6/10/10 but can be adjusted between 6/10/10

to 6/14/10.

Dear Colorado Cyberschool Families –

As another school year begins, we would like to introduce you or reintroduce you to the Colorado Coalition of Cyber school Families (CCCF). CCCF is an organization of cyber school parents who work to support this great option for our children’s education. We are the voice of online public school families, working to educate policymakers about online education and address the many misperceptions about virtual schools. In a year like this when our policymakers are making tough decisions about where to make cuts, we need to make our voices heard. As parents with the common interest of seeing our children succeed in the educational setting that works best for them, we are a strong voice for online education. But we can’t do this alone. We invite any online school parent interested in supporting online education and keeping this option open for their children to join the coalition. Last year was an exciting year for CCCF, our membership grew to over 1,800 committed parent advocates, we sponsored a successful cyber schools video contest and awarded three $500 college scholarships to winners and we hosted our annual Day at the Capitol where 1,600 supporters of public online schools rallied at the state capitol to support our online public schools. We have a lot of exciting activities planned once again this year and we hope that you will join our efforts. We will be hosting our annual Day at the Capitol in early 2010 and there will be several exciting new opportunities to get involved with the coalition. We’d love to have your family become members of the coalition. There is no cost to join CCCF and you can choose to be as active in the coalition as you are able to be. Coalition members receive updates on emerging online education issues, invitations to events and a chance to network with other parents in your area and across the state. We encourage you to visit www.coloradocyberfamilies.org to sign up. Our efforts in Colorado are part of a larger nationwide movement to make public online schools accessible for all families; the National Coalition for Public School Options supports the creation of public school options, including charter schools, online schools, magnet schools, open enrollment policies and other innovative education programs. Please take a moment to visit www.publicschooloptions.org for more information or to sign-up.

Sincerely,

Lori Cooney

President

Colorado Coalition of Cyberschool Families
